Today in Warhol class we discussed the notion of “Modern Art” and who started it and when it started and what it makes it ~modern~ and whatnot. We looked at this piece, Le Bar aux Folies-Bergère by Manet, and all I could think of was the scene in Midnight In Paris when Marion Cotillard’s character travels back to La Belle Epoque and says it’s the best time period ever. Do you ever wonder why people don’t really drink absinthe anymore?
